Job Description:
· Assist with landscape constructions
· Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
• Lay sod or seed
• Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
• Apply fertilizers
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
• May repair and maintaining construction equipment
• Excavating for hardscapes
• Installing granular materials
• Grading
• Laying patios, walkway, pool surrounds
• Installing retaining walls, garden walls etc.
• Installing low voltage lighting
• May assist with pouring concrete
Requirements:
- Education: No formal education is required
- Experience: Experience is an asset, on the job training will be provided
- Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, Dusty, Hot
- Personal Suitability: Organized, Client focus, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player, Dependability
- Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Language: Basic English skills are required
- Driver’s license is an asset
Salary: $18.00 hourly, 40-50 hours per week
Benefits: Tools and uniforms provided. Transportation costs covered if the worker needs to relocate. Accommodation is available at a cost. Transportation costs to and from work are provided.
Important Information:
The position requires working 8-10 hours per day from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00-6:00 PM. weekend work and overtime may be required depending on the business needs. Flexibility in schedule is required.
