Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as a Farm Hand. This full-time position involves a variety of tasks around the farm and yard, including general upkeep, equipment maintenance, and machine operation when needed. Please note that this role will involve a significant amount of physical labour, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. We're seeking someone dependable, hardworking, and ready to take on the demands of a physically active job.
Key Responsibilities
General Farm and Yard Work (80% of the job):
Performing daily cleaning and upkeep duties such as sweeping, mopping, laundry, and general tidying
Assisting with maintenance and organization, including oil changes, refilling lubricants, and pressure washing
Supporting seasonal and ongoing projects (e.g., tarping piles, preparing equipment)
Contributing to overall yard cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
Equipment Operation (20% of the job):
Operate farm machinery (such as tractors) to complete necessary tasks
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure it stays in good working condition
Follow all safety guidelines and handle materials (including fertilizers) responsibly
Work closely with the team to maintain a positive, productive environment
Take on additional duties as assigned to support farm operations
Requirements
Farming background with hands-on agricultural experience in Canada is a must
Must provide a current driver’s abstract
Mechanically inclined, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform small repairs
Proven experience operating tractors and farm machinery (required)
Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and around fertilizers
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, stay on your feet for long periods, and handle physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
