Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working in close partnership with members of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Finance guides the financial systems and practices that underpin sustainable growth and effective service delivery. 

This role aligns financial strategy with organizational priorities, providing clear, accurate, and timely financial information to support decision-making across YOU. You ensure our work is grounded in fiscal responsibility, with measurable outcomes in financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and accountability to funders and stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Champion Financial Stewardship: Shape how resources are invested across the organization, balancing mission impact with long-term financial strength and helping teams make confident, well-informed decisions. 

  • Bridge Strategy and Finance: Connect big ideas to real numbers, ensuring priorities are grounded, resourced, and set up to succeed. 

  • Uphold Financial Integrity: Lead strong financial controls, compliance, and risk awareness that protect the organization and build trust with funders and partners. 

  • Make the Numbers Meaningful: Turn complex financial data into clear, compelling insights that people actually understand and use, linking day-to-day decisions to the bigger picture. 

  • Make Finance Everyone’s Tool: Bring financial thinking into everyday conversations so leaders feel confident using numbers to move forward, not slow down. 

  • Nurture Financial Sustainability: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in a way that keeps us steady today and ready for what’s next. 

  • Lead an Exceptional Team: Support and elevate a strong, established finance team, creating clarity, momentum, and space to keep raising the bar. 

Experience and Expertise: 

  • Professional Designation: A recognized accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is required. 

  • Senior Finance Leadership: 5–7 years in a director-level or senior finance role, with experience in complex, multi-stream, or mission-driven organizations. 

  • Financial Management Expertise: Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit, with accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and integrity. 

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Proven ability to align financial planning with organizational strategy, supporting decision-making at the senior leadership and board level. 

  • Financial Controls and Compliance: Deep understanding of internal controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to maintain strong and reliable financial practices. 

  • Financial Systems and Technology: Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, with a focus on improving processes, increasing visibility, and reducing manual workload through smart use of technology. 

  • Cross Functional Leadership: Success leading initiatives across departments to achieve shared goals and collective impact. 

  • Analytical Judgment: Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data alongside professional judgment and contextual understanding. 

  • People Development: Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing leaders. 

  • Integrity and Alignment: A high degree of sound judgment and deep alignment with the mission, vision, and values of YOU.

Compensation and Commitment:  

Hours of Work: This is a full-time senior leadership position. While our core hours support a healthy work life balance, the nature of this role requires flexibility to meet the needs of our programs and community partners.

Starting Wage:

The annual salary for this position is $90,230 to $116,313 based on experience and expertise.
