In the Employment Resource Centre we offer free access to computers, internet, telephone, fax, photocopiers, job postings and help with resume writing and job search techniques.

Not sure who to turn to? The Youth Action Centre can help. We’re a resource referral drop-in centre for youth 16-24 years of age. The YAC is a fun, safe place where staff listen and care.

YOU Made It Café

The YOU Made It Café is a social enterprise owned and operated by Youth Opportunities Unlimited as an employment skills program for youth who face barriers due to homelessness, unemployment and lack of education. Youth employed in the café benefit from a thorough skills training program under the mentorship of professional staff. This is also where you’ll find Market Quality Preserves (MQP) – made by youth employed in Enterprise Services under the supervision of professional staff. Purchase individually or in a gift basket. Our beautiful hand-made cutting boards, in various woods and sizes, can be purchased at the Café. Custom orders for gift baskets may also be placed at the Café. Proceeds from all purchases go directly to programs and services of Youth Opportunities Unlimited.

The Next Wave Youth Centre offers programs and supports for youth ages 12-30 within the Strathroy community and Middlesex County. Located in downtown Strathroy the Next Wave Youth Centre can assist youth with employment readiness, on the job training, housing, connections to education or training as well as many other areas related to education, training, employment and basic needs. The qualified staff members at the Next Wave Youth Centre ensure that the Centre is a safe and inviting space for youth to build skills, confidence and independence to reach their potential.

The Cornerstone

The Cornerstone provides a safe environment for at risk youth ages 16 to 24 while encouraging them to explore options and supporting them in making positive choices. The Cornerstone team works towards the elimination of youth homelessness. Programming encompasses supportive housing, education, employment, family connections and interventions to address health concerns and/or addictions. The Cornerstone bridges gaps between youth and needed means in the community by providing comprehensive resources, harm-reduction and serving as a connecting point for community partnerships. The Cornerstone is also home to the YOU Made It Café, the Community Meeting Room and alternative education experiences through the Thames Valley District School Board.
