Reporting to the Head Chef, Food Service – Enterprise, the Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of food and catering orders throughout the community. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for loading, delivering, and occasionally setting up catering orders while ensuring food quality and safety standards are maintained during transport. This role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to operate a company vehicle, and a strong commitment to providing reliable and professional service when representing YOU in the community.

The Delivery Driver works collaboratively with the Food Services production and front‑of‑house teams to ensure that daily delivery schedules are met and that community partners, customers, and vendors receive reliable and courteous service.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Load catering orders and prepared foods safely and efficiently
  • Delivery products to community locations on time
  • Verify order accuracy and resolve minor delivery issues
  • Maintain safe food handling practices during transport
  • Complete mileage logs and vehicle checklists
  • Communicate delivery schedules with staff
  • Support safety and cleanliness procedures
  • Provide feedback to staff on delivery issues
  • Participate in health and safety training including WHMIS and applies this knowledge in the workplace
  • Report any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard
  • Ensure all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and YOU policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents.
  • Other related duties, as required

Qualifications:

The incumbent must have superior customer service, attention to details and be comfortable with a variety of people. The incumbent must demonstrate friendliness, creativity, and flexibility in dealing with the public, youth participants and YOU staff. Additionally, the following qualifications are expected:

  • 2 – 3 years related work experience.
  • Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license in good standing and the ability to operate a vehicle for catering deliveries Assets:
  • Safe Food Handling Certification
  • First Aid
  • HACCP Training
  • Demonstrated professional work habits, encourage staff to act with integrity and recognize this trait in others and reward them appropriately.
  • Ability to adhere to all Youth Opportunities Unlimited Guidelines, Policies, Rules and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements ensuring safe food handling practices

HOURS:

  • 20-25 hours per week generally between the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Extended hours and weekend work may be required from time to time
