Reporting to the Social Enterprise Business Liaison, the Sales Assistant will be responsible for the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies of YOU social enterprise products focusing on broadening outreach in small communities in Southwestern Ontario. Other duties will be assigned as necessary. Qualified candidates possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and hold values that support our corporate vision of being “A community where youth are embraced and will thrive”.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative of YOU and attend a minimum of 3 markets / pop-up shops / special events and fundraising events generating sales of YOU products per week
  • Conduct market research into potential vendor opportunities to sell/promote social enterprise products at community markets in Southwestern Ontario
  • Responsible for managing and transporting inventory, event setup and takedown, merchandising products for sale according to brand standards, coordinating product sampling, providing customer service, processing transactions, and supporting youth clients in training and development
  • Contribute to YOU’s social media content to promote participation in local markets / special events

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with events including physical booth setup, product merchandising, customer service
  • Valid Class G License and access to a vehicle that can accommodate booth setup and merchandise
  • A safe food handler’s certificate is considered an asset
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to lift 30+ pounds
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools, Salesforce experience is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with community partners, vendors, staff, and youth participants
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Schedule:

  • 7.5-hour shift
  • Day and evening shifts
  • Wednesday to Sunday up to 35 hours per week

Work Location:

  • In person at 333 Richmond Street, London ON
  • Events and markets throughout London and Middlesex County (Strathroy, Komoka, Ilderton)

Rate: $16.55 per hour

Tentative contract length: May 12th – August 23rd, 2024. This position is dependent on pending Canada Summer Jobs funding.
