Youth Opportunities Unlimited is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Community Developer reporting to the Employment Team Leader. This position is responsible for engaging the community including youth, employers, and community partners with employment services, focused on connecting youth not in employment, education, or training with employment opportunities within the local labor market. Qualified candidates possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and hold values that match our corporate vision, mission & values

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the design and execution of a community development plan for Employment Services
  • Develop relationships with community partners to develop pathways to service for local youth
  • Facilitates monthly stakeholder meetings with youth, community partners, and employers
  • Works with front-line project staff to support youth in receiving employment support
  • Delivers workplace training programs to employers and partners
  • Supports the evaluation and research of the collective impact work
  • Tracks and maintains statistical program information ensuring compliance with funding contracts
  • Contributes to funder reports and share program successes
  • Provide YOU representation to relevant community networks, coalitions, and events as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education at a college or university level in a human relations, social services, or business field or combined equivalent education or experience.
  • Clear understanding of program models including Employment Ontario, Youth Employment, and Skills Strategy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meeting targets and deadlines
  • Demonstrated understanding of YOU’s wraparound approach and the diverse nature of programming to support youth
  • Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships with youth, employers, and community partners
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet program needs, including flexibility with evenings and weekends
  • Actively model the Mission, Vision, and Values of YOU, demonstrating behaviors that are in alignment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Access to reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.08-$29.47 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
