Job Description
o Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts using hand and power tools
o Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery according to sketches or design specifications
o Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons on upholstered items
o Repair furniture frames
o Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery materials by hand to seam cushions and join sections of covering materials
o Install padding and underlays and fasten covering materials to furniture frames
o May make upholstery patterns from sketches, customer descriptions or blueprints
o Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interwoven rattan
o Cut and sew fabrics, vinyls, and leather
o Reupholster used furniture by tacking, stapling, sewing and gluing foam and materials
o Staple materials, sew zippers, glue piping or other fabric trims, hammer decorative nails
o Read work orders and maintain database of production status for communication with outside clients as well as in-house sales managers
o Inspect wooden framework for defects and make repairs as needed prior to upholstery application and other finishing work
Requirements
-Education: Completion of high school is required
-Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in furniture upholstering and repair, including working as an upholsterer helper is required. If the candidate does not have at least 5 years of experience, then completion of college or other specialized courses or an apprenticeship program in furniture upholstering and repair is required.

Salary: $20.00 -$22.00 per hour, 35- 40 Hours per week.
Important information: The work schedule will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position requires flexibility in schedule. Overtime and weekend work might be required based on the business’ needs.
