Job Description

· Design ornamental and ceramic functional earthenware

· Design jewellery, utensils, implements, wall hangings, and other objects

· Sell artistic productions

· Manage day-to-day business operations

· Supervise apprentices or other artisans

· Create sculptures, statues, and other three-dimensional artwork

· Carve, cut, drill, sculpt, shape and smoothen Himalayan Salt, Calcite Crystals, and other stones.

Requirements

- Education: Completion of high school is required.

- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in the field is required.

- Creative ability and talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work, and knowledge of safe handling of material, tools and equipment are required.

-Experience in creating sculptures, reliefs, lamps and other three-dimensional art pieces by using abrasives and tools such as chisels, drills, gouges, and mallets to drill, shape, carve, and create distinct crafts made out of Calcite and Himalayan Salt Crystals is required.

-The candidate must be familiar with the nature, working methodologies and properties of this medium.

-Knowledge on how and when to heat and carve, cut, drill, sculpt, shape and smoothen Himalayan Salt, and Calcite Crystals in order to produce various art pieces, lamps and products is a strong asset.

-The candidate will work with Himalayan salt crystals, calcite, and other stones.

-Language: English is required.

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines; Sitting; Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Ability to distinguish between colours; Manual dexterity; Hand-eye co-ordination.

-Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, Accurate, Client focus.

-Work Site Environment: Dusty, Noisy, and Hot.

- Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Salary: $22.50 per hour, 40 hours per week.

Important information: Work schedule will be a regular 5 day week, Monday to Friday. The employee’s workday will begin at 9:00am and end at 5:00pm. It includes 30 minutes for paid lunchtime and 2 healthy breaks of 15 minutes each, which are also paid. However, depending on the duties that need to be fulfilled, the employee’s workday could start earlier or finish later. Overtime may be required.
