Job Description:
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
Perform scheduled maintenance service
Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
Repair or replace mechanical units or components
Test and adjust units to specifications
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Estimate parts and labour costs
Coach and instruct apprentices
Provide customer service
Requirements:
-Education: Completion of high school is required.
-Experience: Completion of a four-year automotive service technician apprenticeship program OR a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade AND high school, college or industry courses in automotive technology is required to be eligible for trade certification.
-Be eligible to obtain a trade certification for Automotive Service Technicians is required.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Hand-eye co-ordination, Overtime required.

Salary: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, 40 - 45 hours per week.
Benefits: Free parking available. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.
Important information: This position will require working from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Work on Saturdays may be required depending on the business needs. Schedules on Saturdays would be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Overtime is required.
