Note: Telecommuting is available during the pandemic. Staff will gradually begin to return to our office in April 2022.

Job Description:

● Analyze technical documents and reports. Prepare site analyses, including researching official plans, zoning, and other applicable by-laws

● Prepare construction drawings in Revit

● Construct architectural and display models

● Computer-aided design (CAD)

● Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Prepare presentation material including renderings, aerial views, coloured presentation drawings

● Assist in establishing the conceptual design of a project through drawings, sketches, digital 3D models, and physical models

● Supervise architectural technical staff

● Create project statistic spreadsheets and keep them up to date

● Draft plans in Revit based on sketches from the Project Architect

● Assist in the coordination of the project consultants

● Prepare shadow impact studies

● Layout parking garages

● Draw suite plans based on sketches from the Project Architect or precedent suite plans from previous projects.

● Assist with construction field reviews and prepare Site Review Reports

● Review Shop Drawings and other contractor submittals in the construction phase

● Measure and verify existing site conditions and create as-built drawings

● May visit construction sites or go to meetings at the clients' or consultants' offices if needed

Requirements

- Education: Completion of a two- to three-year college program in architectural technology is a minimum required credential. A Bachelors or Masters degree in Professional Architecture is preferred.

- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field is required.

- Excellent design and presentation skills are required

- Experience in construction drawings is required

- Graphic design skills are an asset

- Computer and Technology Knowledge required: Windows PC, Google Workspace servers

- Operating Systems and Software knowledge required: Revit, Rhino, Photoshop (Adobe CS), AutoCAD, Vray or Enscape, MS Office

- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Sitting

- Personal Suitability: Initiative, Team player, Excellent written communication, Excellent oral communication, Effective interpersonal skills, Organized, Client focus, Accurate, Judgement

Salary: $35.90 per hour; 37.5 hours per week

Important Information: This position requires working Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Overtime may be required to meet a deadline.
